Communication

Communication means to share one's thoughts with others. Communication is a bidirectional process. One must have the feedback from the other end in order to know what to say next. In practice, telecommunications involve the conversion of messages which may be in the form of words or coded symbols into electrical voltage or current which varies with time and is used to carry information from one point to another. Such electrical quantities are termed as signals.

Signal:

The encoder converts the message into electrical signals and feeds them to the transmitter.
